India’s answer to Siri – Micromax AISHA

by vinayak mathur

Micromax has launched its A50 Superfone Ninja handset, which comes with a voice assistant – AISHA (Artificial Intelligence Speech Handset Assistant).

A50 is a dual SIM smartphone that runs on Android 2.3.6 ‘Gingerbread’. It has 650 MHz processor on-board and features 3.1 inch capacitive touchscreen.  Micromax A50 also sports a 2.0 MP camera and has been priced at Rs. 4,999.

The highlight feature of the Micromax A50 is AISHA, which is a voice assistant similar to Siri in the iPhone 4S. This tool helps users to initiate a Google search, view stock market details, know phone status, movie reviews, make calls, read news of desired locations, and translate text etc. by simply speaking a command. It also enables people to update their status on social-networking websites such as Facebook and Twitter.

For the smooth functioning of AISHA, Micromax has a back-end tie up with Indian portals such as Timesjob.com and Simplymarry.com.

The Android lineup of Micromax includes A85, A75, A73 and A78, offering handsets in the price range of Rs. 4,999 to Rs. 12, 500.
